Tasting note

    Light peppery fruit, with warmth and lightly spiced fruit on the finish The Cotes du Rhone appellation stretches for 125 miles, although in practise most of these wines are from the south. Grenache dominates with Clairette, Syrah, Mourvedre, Picpoul, Terret Noir, Picardin, Cinsault, Roussanne, Marsanne, Bourboulenc, Voignier, Carignan, Counoise, Muscardin, Vaccarese, Pinot Blanc, Pascal Blanc, Ugni Blanc, Gamay & Carmarese.

Producer tasting notes

    Deep ruby in colour. Rich, well structured and powerful. Lots of red berry fruits with a hint of spiciness

Information on Wine & Area

    Domaine Clos des Miran is situated in the village of Pont Saint Esprit a little to the north of Orange. The winery dates back to the 16th century with some original buildings and cellar, still featuring its own fountain. Vincent Sauvestre the present owner has made some important renovation work to restore the original imposing dwelling. The vines are growing in very rocky vineyards facing south-west. Le Clos des MIRAN is situated in the "Mas Conil", near Pont St Esprit. The Mas Conil is an archeological site which has already revealed an ancient Roman villa dating back to the 4th century with many artefacts. Today, the Estate spreads over 20 hectares in the middle of which is an ancient farm dating back to the 19th Century. The building has been totally renovated into a modern winery. Varietals include Carignan, Syrah, Grenache, Mourv?dre, Cinsault Piquepoul, Viognier and Ugni blanc. The soil is made up of sandy clay soil and the vineyard is ideally situated facing full South
