Tasting note

Very dark red colour, with big soft fruit. If the vignerons keep this up then it will be the Australians who need to worry. Super rich wine.

Producer tasting notes

Deep red in colour with warm and complex aromas of black fruits. Well structured with well balanced tannins

    Red meats & cheese

Information on Wine & Area

The Corbieres vineyards are situated in Fabrezan in the AUDE region reputed to be the warmest region in France and where the rainfall is low. The influence of the Mediterranean is dominant with a slight Oceanic influence from the West. Winds coming from both directions, bringing a welcome amount of humidity much appreciated by the vines growing in a soil made up mainly of schist. 60 Hectares of vineyards, situated around the village of Fabr?zan which is located within the county of Aude in the Languedoc region. The Ch?teau was built at the end of the 18th Century and the cellars were added in 1912. The innovative winemaking cellars were designed by the architectural company of Gustave Eiffel. Intense and spicy full bodied wines that speak to us of bold Cathar strongholds, high on the wind-carved Corbi?res massif, of vinyeyards on wild hillsides, bathed in the unblinking Meditarranean sun.
