Tasting note

    Dry gravelly wine, deep closed nose, with plenty of fruit. Fuller wine, dry, but not austere. This appellation introduced in 1971, overlaps the Maconnais and Beaujolais areas and is bisected by Pouilly Fuisse. Chardonnay grape. Try it with trout LAST FEW BOTTLES AT ?11.99

Producer tasting notes

    Aromas of pale fleshed fruit such as peaches and pears evolving into the perfume of flowers such as acacia and honeysuckle. Light gold in colour with hints of green, complex fruit flavours typical of Chardonnay

Food matching suggestions

    Lightly chilled with seafood, shellfish and white meat dishes. Also excellent apritif.

Information on Wine & Area

    From vineyards situated around the village of Saint Vran, in the south of Cote Maconnaise. Not as well known as its neighbour, Pouilly Fuisse, but well worth getting to know. The jurassic chalky clay soil is ideal for growing Chardonnay grapes.
